Progress of the Qur'anic sciences

Q 2: Can the scholars of the Qur’an progress to such a level that allows them to unveil things that it is not permissible to uncover - I mean from a religious not an economic perspective?

A: Scholars can achieve spiritual progress by reciting and contemplating the Qur’an, whereby their knowledge expands and they gain a deep understanding of Allah’s Shar‘ (Law), its rules and beliefs. Their status will thus be elevated, through Allah’s Grace and Mercy. Allah may also grant them insight and their Ru’ya (vision) may come true, but they can never know the Ghayb (the Unseen). Allah (Exalted be He) says: "(He Alone is) the All-Knower of the Ghaib (Unseen), and He reveals to none His Ghaib (Unseen)." Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of unseen as much as He likes), and then He makes a band of watching guards (angels) to march before him and behind him.
