Is it permissible for a boy who is over ten and under fifteen years old to contract his own marriage or should his father arrange the marriage contract on his behalf?
It is permissible for a father to contract a marriage for his son who has not reached puberty. The father himself writes the marriage contract on behalf of his son. As for the pubescent boy, he may do it himself or appoint someone, be it his father or someone else, to arrange this contract. The signs of puberty include reaching the age of fifteen, growth of pubic hair and emission of semen, whether it occurs during wet dreams or otherwise.
