Ruling on a shot in the mouth for the sake of local anesthetization while fasting

Q 3: The dentist has to give the patient a shot in the mouth (Part No. 9; Page No. 200) for local anesthetization, which does not contain any nutritional elements. Does this affect Sawm (Fast), taking into consideration that the patient can delay the treatment until night or even until after Ramadan?

A: There is no harm in giving a fasting person a shot in the mouth or in another organ of the body for local anesthetization in order to receive treatment, because this shot does not contain any nutritional elements.
