Standing in an upright position beside the grave of the Prophet (peace be upon him) when greeting him with peace is not for the sake of paying salutation to measure against it the necessity of standing up when greeting him at any other place. Standing up in this case is merely remaining in the same posture that one ended in on arriving at the grave, walking on foot. It does not indicate assuming a standing position for it. This is the case when visiting any other grave. One greets the inhabitants of the grave while standing, if one arrives there on foot, and not for the sake of paying salutation. (Part No. 3; Page No. 9) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
