What is the ruling concerning someone

Q 4: If the time of paying Zakah (obligatory charity) was due in the month of Jumada al-'Ula, can we delay paying it until the month of Ramadan without any legal excuses?

A: It is not permissible to delay paying Zakah from its due time without a legal excuse such as nonexistence of poor people at the time of paying it, the inability to transport Zakah to them, the nonexistence of money at the time or the like. But delaying it in order to pay it during the month of Ramadan is not permissible unless it is for a short period of time such as delaying it for half a month if it is due in the second half of Sha'ban. In this case it can be delayed and paid in Ramadan.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
