Shaving the beard to get a job

A: You have done well by stopping the barber from shaving beards, and you should repent to Allah (Exalted be He) for the past. This is because shaving or shortening the beard is an act of disobedience to Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He), as the Messenger (peace be upon him) has ordered that the beards should grow, and to shave and overtrim the moustache, Allah (Glorified be He) says: And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it). And: And all of you beg Allâh to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful (Part No. 14; Page No. 464) He (Glorified be He) also says: ...whereas Allâh has permitted trading and forbidden Ribâ (usury). So whosoever receives an admonition from his Lord and stops eating Ribâ (usury) shall not be punished for the past; his case is for Allâh (to judge); but whoever returns [to Ribâ (usury)], such are the dwellers of the Fire - they will abide therein. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
