Selling shares

Q: What is the ruling on buying shares for more than one's capital? I bought some shares and sold them for a higher price. What is the ruling on this, given that I have some shares left?

A: If all or most of these shares are not money, (Part No. 13; Page No. 321) but land, cars, buildings and so, and they are known to both buyer and seller, it is permissible to trade in them, whether in cash or on credit, according to the general evidence on the permissibility of buying and selling. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
