Reciting Qur'an from the Mus-haf during the optional late night Prayer

Q 4: While performing Qiyam-ul-Layl (optional Prayer at night), is it permissible to recite the Qur'an in Salah (Prayer) from the Mus-haf (copy of the Qur'an)? There are some who say that reciting the Qur'an from the Mus-haf prohibits complete submissiveness in Salah.


A: It is permissible to recite the Qur'an from the Mus-haf while performing optional Prayer at night or (Part No. 6; Page No. 109) Tarawih (special supererogatory night Prayer in Ramadan) for those who have not memorized the Qur'an.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
