Is there Zakah due on one's farm which he intends for sale?

Q: I have a farm that became land for building. Regarding its Zakah (obligatory charity), whenever I sell a piece of this land, I pay the Zakah due on the sold piece of land. I would like Your Eminence to explain the Zakah due on the pieces of land I sell in monthly installments and the pieces I have not sold yet. May Allah reward you with the best. A: If the reality is as you mentioned, Zakah is due on (Part No. 8; Page No. 117

A: If the reality is as you mentioned, Zakah is due on (Part No. 8; Page No. 117) the land after the elapse of a Hawl (one lunar year calculated from the time a property reaches the minimum amount upon which Zakah is due) calculated from the time the owner intended to sell it. With regard to the pieces of land that have been sold, the due Zakah is paid from the price. As for the land that has not yet been sold, its value has to be estimated in cooperation with some experts who have the ability to estimate the value of such land at the time when Zakah is due; that is, when a Hawl elapses. Zakah is paid according to the estimated value of the land.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
